10th Annual SWA Run AWAY 5K!
The 2025 SWA Run AWAY 5K Trail Run was held Saturday, April 5, on the Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County's 1,300-acre campus, in West Palm Beach. This event celebrates the harmony of industry and nature, bringing awareness to recycling and solid waste issues.
The SWA Run AWAY 5K is a unique race that takes participants AWAY through cabbage palms, cypress hammocks, marshes and lush pine flatwoods, with glimpses of Grassy Waters Preserve and the Renewable Energy Park. The event is conducted in partnership with the nonprofit Resource Depot, which works to inspire creativity, conservation and community engagement through reuse of waste.

Overall Female Winner: Charlotte Gervais of Shawinigan, Quebec, Canada
Record-Breaking Participation
This was a record-breaking event with 371 participants who enjoyed the lush
SWA Greenway Trail System and beautiful weather.
True Winner - Resource Depot!
We raised over $13,000 in proceeds, which will directly benefit our mission to promote creative reuse
and conscious consumption in Palm Beach County.

Gather your group of six or more and enjoy a
$5 discount*on each registration fee.
(Plus groups will receive a special shout-out at the race!)
No need to gather the entire group before signing up – recruitment is open until online registration closes.
Once the 6th person joins your group, the previous 5 adults will be issued a $5 refund.
Team members 6 and beyond will be able to register at the discounted price once they join the group.
*While the discount doesn't apply to the youth registration rate, youngsters can still be part of your race team.
Interested in building a team at your workplace, school or organization?
Corporate Teams are coordinated through a designated "captain" at your place of business, who compiles a list of registrants and makes a single payment for all registrations. Corporate teams will be acknowledged at the race, with a special prize for the team with the highest number of registrations. Contact Patti at events@swa.org to create your corporate team.
